Gates Temporarily Open

One leaf of the exit gate failed on Thursday and is currently inoperable.

The Gate Committee assessed the failure approximately one hour after it was reported. During troubleshooting, they confirmed that:

  • Power supply is functioning
  •  Gate motors are operational
  •  Control settings are correct
  •  Safety detectors are working
  • Ground loops are responding properly

Based on that assessment, the issue appears to be more complex than can be safely resolved by our volunteer Gate Committee. The Association’s gate contractor was engaged on Thursday; however, they are not able to complete service on the gate until Monday.

Why Are All Gates Open?

Per Association policy, when one gate leaf fails, all gates are opened.

This is done for safety and to prevent property damage:
  • Delivery and service vehicles frequently attempt to use the exit gate as an entrance.
  • With only one leaf operating, the opening becomes significantly narrower. Narrow access substantially increases the likelihood of vehicles striking the gate, operator arms, or adjacent masonry.

Opening both gates ensures full-width access and reduces the risk of further damage while repairs are pending.

Updates will be provided once repairs are complete and normal operation resumes. Please post any questions below.

UPDATE 03-02-26: The front gates are fully operational. The rear exit gate is closed, as parts were temporarily used to restore service to the front gates while we await delivery of replacement components.

UPDATE 03-03-26: All gates are currently non-operational due to an electrical surge issue of unknown origin. Unfortunately, the surge has damaged two replacement control boards. Our immediate priority is restoring the front gates to full operation as quickly as possible.

UPDATE 03-03-26: The source of the surge has not been located. On Wednesday we will rebuild one of the operators with the goal of getting the entry operational by day's end.

UPDATE 03-06-26: Entry gates are fully in opertional. Waiting on parts for the rear gates.

UPDATE 03-07-26: The westgrove exit gate failed again. Service is scheduled for Monday.

UPDATE 03-09-26: The westgrove exit gate back in operation.

    1. The board damage and the electrical problems are in the gates that were hit by Amazon and FedEx.
