The Dumpster Returns: This Time, Let’s Not Scare It Away

The Association is going to try the community dumpster program again.

This service has been popular, useful, and worthwhile for many owners. When it works, it is a real benefit to the community. The dumpster is appreciated — but not always managed well. Yada yada yada. We all know how this cartoon ends unless the trash starts making better choices.

Dumpster Comeback Tour: One Week Only - Expectations for Dumpster Use

To keep the dumpster program available, all owners and residents must follow these expectations:

  1. Enter the gate and place all items fully inside the dumpster as far to the west as possible.
We want to stack it as densely as possible to get a lot in there. Don't just toss things over the side.

  2. Everything goes inside the dumpster
Nothing should be left in the parking lot, in front of the dumpster, beside the dumpster, or blocking the gate.

  3. Do not overfill the dumpster.
Items may not extend above the top rim of the container. If the dumpster is full, it is full. Please do not add more.

  4. Break down boxes before placing them in the dumpster.
Empty boxes take up a surprising amount of space when they are not flattened. Please break them down before disposal.

  5. Do not dump construction debris, hazardous materials, paint, chemicals, appliances, tires, or prohibited items.
The dumpster is intended for ordinary household cleanout items, not contractor waste or materials that require special disposal.

  6. Do not bring trash from outside the community.
The dumpster is for Lakes of Bent Tree owners and residents only. It is not for friends, contractors, outside properties, or mysterious “traveling trash” from elsewhere.

  7. Do not use the dumpster to dispose of an entire unit’s worth of belongings.
The dumpster is a shared community service. One resident should not fill a large portion of the container and leave no room for others.

  8. Please leave the area clean.
If something spills, breaks, or falls out, please clean it up. The dumpster area should not become a volunteer rescue mission.

So, dumpster is back.
